Starting Out

The band The Tea Party consists of three members, Jeff Martin, the main vocalist and guitarist; Jeff Burrows, the percusionist; and Stuart Chatwood, on the keyboard.

Both Jeff Martin and Jeff Burrows played music together at 12 years of age. All three of them played in small rockbands while growing up. They all went to the same highschool. Jeff Martin and Jeff Burrows had already been friends for a long time, but they met Stuart in their artclass in highschool. They started to play together as a band, and The Tea Party was formed in 1991 after they graduated. After this, they worked together seriously.

Their original album had more of a bluesy feel to it, and seems a lot different than the alternative rock that The Tea Party now produces.
