Over the past few months, I’ve been getting notifications once in a while alerting me that my anime music videos have been removed for violating the terms of service. Since the videos are made with both copyrighted footage and copyrighted music, it makes sense that they would be removed.
At the same time, it’s sad to [...]

Youtube Anime Music Video Shutdown
Friday, March 20th, 2009Anime and Manga Music Video-Making Addiction
Sunday, February 24th, 2008I love love love love making music videos. There’s something so satisfying about it! I have several on the go right now because I’m the type of video-editor who likes to poke away at things when I have the fancy.
My most long term project is a Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch anime music video using [...]
Princess Tutu – Fakir’s Role as a (Fan) Fiction Writer
Friday, February 8th, 2008For my fan fiction class, I chose to analyse the following anime music video:
I love Princess Tutu, but I sadly haven’t watched it in years. I have most of it on DVD, but I’m missing the last volume. (One day, one day!) I’ve watched Chapter of Egg (the first half of the series) several times, but I’ve only seen Chapter of Chick once all the way through [...]
500 Days and Counting
Thursday, January 31st, 2008If success is measured by looking at hit counts, Sparkle Sparkle is…slightly more successful than before! (It’s so relative!)
Sparkle Sparkle has finally cracked 5000 unique hits in one month, which is a pretty big deal to me as a small-time, not-so-regular shoujo blogger. I almost reached my goal of 5000 in one month in December, with 4978 hits (ouch! so close!).
Sparkle Sparkle is also 500 days old as of today! I’m going to try to keep on sparkling. Thanks for reading my blog!
I mentioned the other day about the anime music [...]
Princess Tutu AMVs for Fanvid Analysis
Saturday, January 26th, 2008I’m pretty excited about one of my assignments that is coming up quickly. For my Fan Fiction class (yes, a legitimate English Studies course at my university), I have to write a five minute analysis of any fanvid I want from youtube. Since I love shoujo anime, I decided that I would choose [...]
Anime Music Video – A Prince Doesn’t Need Two Princesses [Princess Tutu]
Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008Ah, it’s time to revisit old anime music videos! Princess Tutu is ranked high on my list of favourite animes, so it was natural to create a video about it. This anime music video is one of my personal favourite that I’ve created over the years. I originally watched this series on [...]
New Anime Music Video – A Slight Attack by The Tea Party [Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne]
Wednesday, September 12th, 2007My home is internetless! I moved into a new apartment on September 1st, but it’s been difficult to get everything set up. The internet particularly has been elusive, and I’m on my twelve day without. I have six more days to go until it’s installed. Working on a new anime music video has [...]
Anime Music Video – Libertango by Bond [Card Captor Sakura]
Saturday, August 25th, 2007Card Captor Sakura was one of the first series that I watched through in Japanese with English subtitles. I think that only a few series like Marmalade Boy, Revolutionary Girl Utena, and Ayashi no Ceres preceded it for me. It became one of my earliest subjects for creating an anime music video. I was [...]
Manga Music Video – Mobile’s Out of My Head [Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne]
Tuesday, July 3rd, 2007I’ve made several anime music videos over the years (catalogued at my animemusicvideos.org profile), but I’d never done a manga music video before. I’ve watched a lot of them, but many people who create them do little more than a simple slideshow with music. I really wanted to create a sense of movement despite using still images. I decided to use the song “Out of My Head” by [...]
