500 Days and Counting

If success is measured by looking at hit counts, Sparkle Sparkle is…slightly more successful than before!  (It’s so relative!)

Sparkle Sparkle has finally cracked 5000 unique hits in one month, which is a pretty big deal to me as a small-time, not-so-regular shoujo blogger.  I almost reached my goal of 5000 in one month in December, with 4978 hits (ouch! so close!).

Sparkle Sparkle is also 500 days old as of today!  I’m going to try to keep on sparkling.  Thanks for reading my blog!

5000-Hit Month + 500 Days

I mentioned the other day about the anime music video analysis that I did for my fan fiction class.  I did end up choosing Hold Me Now as suggested in the comments.  Thanks for the input!  Princess Tutu looked great on the big screen; it was even more dramatic at such a large scale!

Unfortunately, my presentation went terribly! I’m one of those annoyingly shy people who doesn’t like to speak unless spoken to. I was so nervous, especially because the small lecture hall has staggered seating, so it’s not like you can just see the people in the front row. You can see everyone perfectly and that is so so so frightening. I could hear my voice shaking and I could see my paper shaking in my hands to match. After the shock of seeing so many people so clearly, I just kept my eyes down and read my work. Also, my words get faster and faster when I’m feeling nervous, so add that to the list of aliments, and you’ve got one terrible public speaker on your hands.

And my mother wonders why I don’t want to pursue teaching as a career. Gah.

After class, the second presenter came up to me and said I did a good job. I told him the same, because his actually was really well presented unlike mine. A small part of me wanted to say “that’s a big lie!” because he was obviously speaking out of politeness.

I got my mark back on the presentation, which, expectedly, was awful! I nearly failed that component. But, the written part of the presentation saved me, bumping me up to an 83%. Hoorah! I’m really pleased with the essay portion and will be posting it once I have a chance to re-edit it for the blog, which will probably be within the next few days.

    -Congratulations on cracking 5000.

-Giving a speech or presenting is absolute horror for me as well, except for me the paper I’m holding shakes so much I can’t read it.

    Congratulations~

I know what you mean, it’s very hard to speak in front of many people.
Any mistakes you make, and everyone gonna talk about it..
