Anime Music Video – A Prince Doesn’t Need Two Princesses [Princess Tutu]
Ah, it’s time to revisit old anime music videos! Princess Tutu is ranked high on my list of favourite animes, so it was natural to create a video about it. This anime music video is one of my personal favourite that I’ve created over the years. I originally watched this series on fansub as it came out, but once it was finally licensed, I had to pick up the DVDs so that I could own the magic that is Princess Tutu. I’m almost done my collection, but I’m still missing volume 6. I think I’ll have to order it online because I’ve been looking for the last volume locally for over a year. Yikes!
Watching this video is a blast from the past for me. I remember making this video on my parents’ ancient computer. I spent around two months working on this after school back when I was in highschool. I used Adobe Premiere, and it barely ran on it. Processing the video with codecs took hours, and often crashed in the process. …Actually, not much has really changed since then, video-editing wise, because Adobe runs terribly on both my desktop (4 years old) and my laptop (1.5 years old).
Sometimes, when I watch old videos that I created, I shudder in belief that I created such monstrosities. There is this one Ayashi no Ceres video I made using a Linkin Park song “With You” – it was my first AMV ever, and it was absolutely terrible. I didn’t have subtitles or anything in it (I’ve always hated subtitles in AMVs), but the scenes were spliced together haphazardly. A part of me wishes that I still had a copy of it for historical reasons. It used to be a popular Ayashi no Ceres download on WinMX (does anyone remember when that p2p program was the big thing? With its florescent green and black colour scheme by default? Haha!), so maybe someone out there has it stored on a CD tucked away). If you just so happen to have it, please contact me; it would be amazing to see it again, but entirely unlikely that the people who downloaded it so many years ago would stumble across this little blog.
